Calcium Chloride is an inorganic compound having the chemical formula of CaCl2. It is produced by neutralising hydrochloric acid along with calcium hydroxide. This is available in white coloured crystalline solid form. This is highly soluble in water. This is extensively used as an additive in different materials from wastewater treatment plants, plastics to blast furnaces for enhancing the features and characteristics. In addition, it is also widely utilized as an agent for lowering down the freezing point of water. This is also highly-effective to prevent ice formation on the road surfaces. In addition, it is also used as a deicer.
